Do you ever wrestle with questions about the existence of God? Why do bad things happen to good people? Who really wrote the Bible and how do I read it? Or maybe one of the many other big questions? Then you're doing theology: you're thinking about God.

The theologian Karl Barth once said, 'In the Church of Jesus Christ there can and should be no non-theologians.'

Theology belongs in the very heart of the local church. Theology belongs in the hands of believers.

The School of Theology offers an opportunity to listen to some of the best thinkers and communicators of Christian faith today, to chew over these ideas with others, and a great way to get to know people who are on the same journey as you are.

Each time we meet, there will be two different tracks running alongside each other. Participants choose one of the two, and stay with this track throughout the year. We always begin with worship together, and then divide into the two tracks for the rest of the morning. Each morning has a presentation from a speaker, a coffee break, and then small group discussion.

BIBLE TRACK - An introduction to the Bible, this track aims to help you become familiar with its story, know its key themes, and learn how to read it wisely in today’s world. This track is especially aimed at those with no or little experience of studying theology, but who want to increase their understanding of the Bible, and create a firm foundation to build on.

FAITH TRACK - This track aims to give a guide to the basic building blocks of Christian belief, sometimes known as systematic theology. It builds on a basic knowledge of the Bible, so it is advised that participants would have already read/thought about theology in some form.
