Our Vision
Hello and welcome to churchforstudents.com, the online home of the student ministry at St Thomas Crookes.
We are a church that is passionate about students. There are 60,000 university students in Sheffield and we believe that God has called us to share the life changing message of Jesus with all of them. We long to see every student know that Jesus Christ came to set them free. He was crucified and died for our sin but he rose from the dead and now he calls us to live a new life with him. This is a life knowing we’re forgiven, free from all the bad stuff from the past; a life knowing freedom, a life knowing grace.
St Thomas Crookes has a strong missionary history.Our call is to reach our city. The gospel writer, John, talks about 'life' 36 times. He talks about the power of Jesus' life: a life lived in such a way that it turned the world upside down. Such a life that for two thousand years some of the world’s best minds have been fascinated with that life: Jesus’ life. Millions of books have been written about one man's life. Jesus' life was significant: he changed lives, he spoke radical messages, he healed people, he freed people; he talked to the most despised people of his generation and called them friends.
